"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable think is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes." (from 'Attitude' by Charles Swindoll)

Największe rozczarowanie to… utrata Nero!

Nero dołączył do naszej rodzinki w lipcu 2009 roku.

 -------------------------------------------------------------------------

My life is entirely deprived of balance! When I’m lazy, I’m lazy! When I work, I work like there’s no tomorrow!!! I don’t even know when all these weeks went by without me posting even once!

My vacation was all right! I’m not thrilled, because after months of waiting, it didn’t live up to my expectations. The bigges disappointment was… loosing Nero! It’s been more than two months and I’m still getting teary eyes every time I think of him.

Here’s the story! Nero joined our family in July 2009. We literaly saved him from death that was scheduled for the very next day. He was skinny and fearful. But when he gained some muscles and strength, he became extremely territorial and not so friendly towards other dogs. We even sent him to a doggie school, but his temperament prevailed. We always kept a close eye on him and days went by. His playfulness and absolute loyalty totally made up for leash walks filled with stress and tugging.

Before we left for Paris, we dropped Shiva and Nero in a hotel they both stayed before. However the hotel turned out to be not as awesome as we thought. Because of somebody’s overlook or carelessness, Nero managed to make his way out of his run into another dog’s kennel. Despite of the hotel perosnell telling us that the injuries sustained by the other doggie were minor, it died after a couple of days.

And so Mike and I made one of the most difficult choices ever. From a hotel room in the center of Paris, on the phone, crying like babies, we made a decision to put Nero down. After that we went to our favorite corner basserie and celebrated our little guy by getting drunk on 2 bottles of wine.

More about Paris, soon.
